Options: The old holiday in ~ now the Quality Inn is down the street and across the fwy from the River Raisin Golf club. It has a large indoor pool where we could play cards poolside but is rather institutional in feel and expensive at @89/room. They offer a big breakfast as part of the fee.
America’s Best Value Inn
America’s Best Value Inn is a bit funkier, but with nice landscaping, picnic tables and grills. Each room opens to the outside rather than the institutional sterile halls of the QI ~ there is a laundry room, continental breakfast, wireless, cable/HBO, a mini refrigerator and microwave in each room; lite continental bfast incl.. The would give us Single room (king bed): 42.99+tax, double room (2 full beds) $ 47.99+tax ~ there is a short pathway to an outdoor pool (to see go to photos and click on pool) at the Red Roof Inn, very small pool more for playing than swimming, but cute and with outside tables where one could play cards.
Drawback – rooms are a bit stale from having had smokers over the years… however it is nicely located right in a cluster with several restaurants including the Red Lobster, and right across from the River Raisin Golf Club (all w/in walking distance) and the entrance to our lovely Sterling State Park.
